My passion for the environmental sciences stemmed from a young age. Spending about one month a year, skiing, hiking, and walking around Colorado allowed my love for nature to grow. I’ve always appreciated nature; however, I began to fear for our diminishing planet at the age of 10. I was in Alaska admiring the beautiful view off of a large cruise boat. As I stared at a giant glacier, I saw half of the giant ice mound crash down into the water. That image has stuck with me ever since and turned me into the environmental advocate I am today.

I’ve had the opportunity to plant trees in Israel, visit windmills in Holland, and pick up garbage on the beach in Chicago. These experiences, in addition to others, have lead me to understand the extent to which climate change is a global issue. This makes a collaborative solution between countries imperative and of course, in order to collaborate, we must know how to get ideas across in a productive manner.
At Emory University I had the opportunity to take an ENG 101 class titled Climate Change and Multimedia. In this class, I developed communication skills, specifically within climate change. Through a variety of platforms, learned how to take information and get it across to a variety of audiences.
